I am down 10 lbs since starting my goal of swimming a mile a day. Today is day 10, how exciting is that?! It takes me about 1 1/2 hours to swim 1580 yards which is a mile. I have not missed except one day when I was sick with some horrible stomach bug and my arms were swollen! I guess my body needed a small break. A couple days I only swam 1/2 mile a day but I still made sure I swam. Last fall I had major back surgery. I put on weight while laid up in bed, my body got extremely de-conditioned, and so I made a goal to swim a mile a day to regain strength, lose weight, and overall be able to move and feel better. I am loving it! My first goal is to swim a mile a day for an entire month. Then for July, I want to be able to swim a mile a day in an hour instead of an hour and a half. I will continue to update through this journey.
